Fall Fun

One of the most beautiful things about New England is the spectacular autumn season. The leaves are just beautiful and actually makes for a really nice commute. There are several spots on my way to work where the tree limbs and leaves make a canopy over the road. I thought about taking some pictures, but didn't think it was a good idea while I was driving.

Last weekend after we visited our new niece (Hi Hannah!), we took a "country drive" through northeastern Massachusetts and ended up at a farm. It was terrific. Rick took Isaac to their playground and petting zoo. Then we bought some warm apple cider and yummy donuts. Isaac and I danced our way over to the pumpking patch where he picked out an "oval" pumpkin. We looked specifically for a tall pumpkin. We finally found one. Isaac wanted to get a pumpkin for Bella but I finally convinced him that Bella doesn't need a pumpkin that weighs more than her.

When we got home, Isaac and I cleaned out the pumpkin and roasted the seeds. We made regular and cinnamin ones. It was one of those moments that I'd like to freeze when we sat down to enjoy our roasted pumpkin seeds together.

On Tuesday night, we brought some pizzas for dinner to Rick's grandparents house. We had such a good time with them. Isaac was even able to color with Mum. He loved going downstairs to watch Papa's model trains go by and see the coal loader work (which almost shot a piece of fake coal in my eye). Mum loved holding Isabella and hearing her coo and giggle. We are really blessed to be apart of their lives.

Our First Blog Entry

So, I know my blog entry title is generic, but I had to get this started. I've been thinking about blogging for awhile and since I have a few minutes, I thought I should just go for it.

My goal is to update at least once a week, but I am making no promises as I am still adjusting to life with two kids. Speaking of which, Isaac loves his new sister. He likes to pet her head and help me take care of her. He always asks where she is when he gets up or comes home from school. I hope they can have a close relationship with each other, just like I enjoy with my big brother.

Isaac is doing really well in pre-school. He is learning the alphabet and the sounds that each letter makes. BTW, English is can be difficult to teach someone, especially when letters can make different sounds in different situations. Of course, I can't think of an example right this minute!

Isabella is four months old today! She is growing so fast. She smiles constantly and is discovering her voice (other than for crying). She loves to snuggle, which is great most of them, except when I have to get dinner finished!

I am adjusting to being back to work full-time. It is much harder this time around. I still like what I do and where I work. I feel like it takes me so much longer to get the simplest tasks done now.

Rick is also doing well with church and being a super dad. He has been super helpful with Isaac. He, along with a lot great guys, put in a new bathroom this summer. He is also cleaning out the garage and moving stuff into the attic since the bathroom now occupies our storage area.

Well, I need to get going!
