Finally! Some Pictures!

Here are some pictures from the past couple of months. Enjoy!

Isaac loved his Mickey Mouse cake that Auntie Lauren made him.

Isaac also liked playing air hockey.

Here we are in Times Square for Rick's birthday.

This is building that has the famous ball that drops on New Year's Eve. It is tiny.

Just a funny photo of Isaac.

Here are some pictures of Isaac's preschool graduation.

I love this picture! And he kissed me on his own!

This is his teacher, Mrs. McClay. She is a gifted teacher and did a really fabulous job.

Here are some photos of Isaac probably short lived soccer career.

Isaac got a medal for being a good runner and hustling down the field.

He was on the Cobras.

Here are some pictures from Isabella's birthday party.

Isaac and Caleb enjoyed playing with the swimmies outside the pool as well as in the pool.

Here she is with Memaw and Papaw!

So much stuff, so little time…

I know that nearly every blog post starts off with, “It’s been a while,” or “Life doesn’t stop,” or something like that. That seems to be a recurrent theme in my life. I supposed life with a full-time job, two little kids, church responsibilities, and household responsibilities is always gonna be that way. It seems a bit depressing because something or someone always looses. So, this post doesn’t contain any photos because if I don’t post now, I just might not do it all.

What has happened since my last post in *gasp* April?

Isaac turned five years old!! Where did my little boy go?? It is truly so bittersweet. He is such a boy now. He also graduated pre-school this week. He told me that next year, he only wanted to go to school two days a week. Umm, sorry to burst your bubble, but you have to go five days a week. He had his kindergarten evaluation and did really well. He also started his soccer career this spring and it may be short lived. He does really well with the drills and monkey tag, but I don’t think he has totally caught on with the real game. Oh well.

Isabella will be two years old next week! (Now I secretly know why my childhood’s pastor’s wife always squeezed my cheek and exclaimed, “My! How you’ve grown. Not that I enjoyed it or want to carry on that tradition…) She is full of life. She never stops. Ever. She absolutely adores Isaac. She follows him around and does just about everything he does. I’ve had to remind Isaac what a big responsibility he has with being a big brother. She loves shoes. She has a pair of brown boots (thanks, Rachel) that she loves. She also loves to try on everyone else’s shoes as well. She reminds me of myself- all dressed up with a Bob the Builder tool belt on. I’ve also nicknamed her “Punky Brewster.”

Rick and I went to NYC over Memorial Day weekend. It was a fun trip. We stayed at the Paramount Hotel, which is ultra-modern and has super small rooms, in Times Square. We saw “The Screwtape Letters” on Friday night and “Phantom of the Opera” on Saturday night. My favorite part of the trip was Central Park and Metropolitan Museum of Art. It was such a beautiful day that a stroll in the Park was beautiful. Central Park is absolutely ginormous! We also had fun looking at all the neat paintings and sculptures at the Met.

I was also able to catch up with my cousin a few weeks ago. I am vowing to make more time to spend with her as we are both in the ministry and have no other family (besides in-laws) for miles.

I am looking forward to the summer for a number of reasons.
1. The warmer weather.
2. Life tends to be a bit slower as school activities cease and church activities slow down.
3. The warmer weather.
4. My kids need to go outside to get rid off all that energy.
5. I like to take photos in natural light and there is just so much more light in the summer.
6. Continuing squirt gun fights with my son!

Oh yeah, Isabella is getting a new bathroom for her birthday. About a month or so back, we were eating breakfast and noticed Isabella wasn’t around and was very quick. Rick went in the bathroom and found her putting things in the toilet. We thought it was just toilet paper and so we flushed the toilet. Apparently, she removed the plastic cover (slightly smaller than a light switch plate) that hides the bolts that keep the toilet on the floor. Guess where it was??? Down the toilet!! It jammed the toilet so bad that the plumber said the toilet was non-repairable. Destroyed. Gonzo. So, why put in a new toilet with tile that needs to be replaced? And why replace the tile when the vanity needs to be replaced? So, our bathroom is getting an overhaul- everything but the bath/shower.

Been thinking a lot about God’s provision lately. Why do I get so anxious about things when He has always provided for us in the past? And I don’t just mean monetarily. Friends. Family. Church. Finances. Children. Relationships. I have to keep reminding myself, that I need to let God be in control. That God has provided in the past, and he will continue to do so. That doesn’t mean life will be easy, but that I can peace in midst of the storm, joy in the sorrow, and serenity in the heartache.
