Life Doesn't Stop

Life just doesn't stop or slow down. I usually say something like, "Oh, I need to update the blog. I can do that tomorrow, " or "I'll update the blog when I have some free time." And here it is nearly two months later...

What have we done in the past two months?

Rick, Isaac and I went to Hawaii! That was so much fun and definately a much need rest for us. We stayed with some of our very best friends during our trip. We spent most of our time at the beaches (we were at five different ones- Ko'Olina, Waikiki, Turtle, Haunauma Bay, and Kailua). We rented a red Ford Mustang convertible that was super fun, but not so much three suitcases friendly. We went to this really cool nature preserve, Waiama Falls, and swam in a waterfall. We went to a giant swap meet at the Aloha Stadium. We went snorkeling and saw this coolest purple fish with white lips. We had some pretty tasty malasadas and coconut balls. And of course, we had our favorite desert which is Hula Pie. We also went to Kailua beach, which is so amazing. Perhaps the best thing was seeing our friends and watching Isaac reconnect with his. I miss both Diana and Mary terribly, so my heart was overflowing in peace and love throughout the whole trip.

While we were gone, my mom and step-dad came up and watched Isabella for us. I don't know who had the most fun- them or Isabella. They both throughly enjoyed one another! Isabella got some great one-on-one time with her grandparents, well it might have been two-on-one as she doesn't stay still, ever.

My parents stayed to help celebrate my birthday! I just love having them here for that. And the best surprise for my birthday was my brother showing up! How fun! We all really had a great time with each other and my kids just took in all the love and attention they could. We played games and cars, colored and crafted, read stories, and just had fun.

Isabella has never kept her shoes or socks on in the car. She usually has them off in a matter of minutes after we leave the house. Annoying, yes, but at least it had just been shoes and socks. These past few weeks, however, we have woken up to a half dressed little girl with usually one of her legs and arms out of her pajamas. Last Saturday, however, I was pleasantly surprised that she stayed fairly quiet in her crib until about 7:30 or so. Then, I went her room and found a very stinky girl and stinky room. She had undresssed herself and played with, well, you know what. So, she and her room got cleaned up and sanitized. I went out for the afternoon and left when she was asleep. When I got home, she was just waking up. So, we went in to get her up, and she did it again. Not fun. Not fun at all. Last Saturday she had a total of four bathes and we used a whole container of Clorox wipes. Before we put her sleeper on, Rick cut off the feet of them and then put them on her backwards so she could not undress herself. She wouldn't let us take off her boot so she slept with them on. Worked perfectly.
