So I convinced myself this morning to go to the pilates class during lunch. I went consistently before Christmas and now there is a new teacher. I'm not a huge fan of the new one, but I know it is good for me. The class finishes and we all go back to the bathroom/lockerroom to change. I overhear this converstion (between two recent college grads who look like bean poles) about a co-worker who just returned from maternity leave a month ago, "Oh, she like just got back from maternity leave. " "Oh really?" "Yeah, that was her second kid!" "Man, you have to really work hard after having kids. That's why I'm never having kids." And, mind you, the co-worker looks fabulous. I just wanted to bust in and shout, "Your life doesn't end because you have kids!!! Life isn't always about you!!" Oh well.
I started a digital photography class night. It was good to do something that isn't work or church related. We learned about aperature or f-stop, ISO settings, shutter speed, and histograms. I have a lot of homework to get to know my (I mean, our) camera. The instructor said that we'll never use the "Auto" function again! HA! And, get this, Pappy, we have use the viewfinder eyepiece and not the screen. I hope to post some of my pictures on here. For next week, we have to bring in five good pictures that we took with our camera and five bad ones, a tripod, a backdrop, and something still life, and a thumb drive. Yikes!

OOOH! I like the look of your blog! Yea for you going to pilates. Maybe you could ask those gals, "Aren't you glad your mom didn't feel that way about having kids." How exciting to be taking those classes! Can't wait to see all the new pics you take!
It is funny what the parenthood perception is, I think life is just beginning! I saw you proudly with your camera last night, and I hope you get a lot from your photography class. Also I wanted to know how you enjoyed the class from MCC, I almost signed up for a class this semester.
Congrats on the doing something just for you Wendy. It never ceases to amaze me the parenting views that people so freely express when they don't have children...and don't know how bad they're cheating themselves.
The photog class sounds so cool...I have no idea what the other settings on my camera are, so I have avoided getting a better one. Looking forward to seeing all your beautiful work.
You mean life doesn't stop after kids??? How funny!!
Hope you share some photo tips with us. All the enquiring minds want to know all the secrets.
