When I first moved to New England, I had no idea how much snow one place could get nor how long snow and the cold can last. That first winter I was here was really rough. There were a few days in early March that it got kinda warm so I started pulling out my summer clothes in anticipation wearing them soon. Much to my shagrin, my honest husband told me to put them away because it was going to be a while before it got warm again. Oh, my heart was broken. And, he was right. I believe it was late May before I could confidently go out with a jacket on.
Each winter, I have to come to grips that it's gonna get cold and stay cold for awhile. And that I probably won't see the grass for a few months. I don't necessarily like it (believe me, I'll take warm weather any day), but it is where I am. And I have to make a choice in my life. I can put on my grumpy face and angry eyes or I can put on my snow boots and smile.
There are plenty of things I don't like about the snow- driving in it, being cold, having no where to put it so it makes my street one lane, etc. But, there are things I do like about the snowy weather- it slows life down, making a fire and watching the snow fall, seeing Isaac playing in it, how it brings people together.
Rick and I have decided to be resolved this year. So, I am resolved to enjoy my winter despite what the thermometer reads.

I need help in the snow area too, but is it bad to think there are only 64 days until spring?
Nope, it isn't bad at all! We should have a party.
In fact, we need a party each day we count down, don't we??? Because I am so done with this stuff...a party sounds good to me!
